Dan Abnett: The Sabbat Worlds
October 2010·pp. 88–89
THE SHORT VERSION
Dan Abnett recalls being recruited for Black Library comics and choosing human Guardsmen as the most accessible subjects for his early fiction. Gaunt’s Ghosts and the Sabbat Worlds began as spontaneous names, then acquired geography, chronology and religious history as the stories grew. He introduces the first shared anthology as an opportunity for other writers to explore air combat, occupied worlds and old battlefields within a setting that had expanded far beyond its original backdrop.
