What’s on the shelf?
The collection contains 241 White Dwarf magazines, covering August 2003–January 2014 and September 2016–December 2025. There are currently 241 indexed issues, 12617 article summaries and 489 distinct named paints. Any issue still being researched is clearly marked on the shelf.
Contents-listed articles, substantive named subsections, Bunker features and painting tutorials have their own entries. Reader letters and gallery captions are grouped into the feature they belong to. Covers, contents pages, art-only section dividers, advertisements and promotional back covers are excluded.
Summaries with a source
Every entry has one or two original paragraphs written from the supplied magazine’s article text and, where needed, visual inspection of the pages. These are AI-authored reading aids, not official Games Workshop descriptions. Page references point to the printed magazine.
These summaries help you locate the original. Complete rules, fiction, photographs and step-by-step instructions remain in your own magazines. Loose card inserts mentioned in the magazines were not present in the supplied scans.
A note on editions
Rules articles are indexed by edition where the source supports it. An edition inferred from publication context is identified in the article’s note. Painting, fiction, lore and general hobby features use “Not edition-specific” when an edition would not describe their content. Some features deliberately refer to historical rules; their notes preserve that distinction.
Paints, precisely
The paint index records named colours from recipes and substantive painting discussions, including guides outside the Paint Splatter series. It does not guess paints from photographs. Article notes explain source typos, non-Citadel products, or limitations of the provided recipe. Swatches use colours sampled from printed magazine recipes where available. Other swatches are labelled reference approximations from the WarHub paint catalogue and Paintdex (MIT licences). Transparent mediums and varnishes have a checkerboard indicator. A question mark means no verified colour is available. Screens, printed inks and physical paints can differ; visit the source pages for paint order, mixes and techniques.
