RULES·WHITE DWARF 350

The Lord of the Rings: War Journal

February 2009·pp. 48–50

THE SHORT VERSION

Mat Ward explains how companies combine into formations and why larger formations survive casualties better than isolated companies. Models still track damage and attacks, but movement and fighting operate at a scale that makes huge battles practical. Charges, flanking and superior fighting skill add dice rather than guaranteed results, while flexible formation movement allows sweeping manoeuvres without requiring players to manage every warrior’s individual route.
