The Sea Engineers’ inventions range from river-patrolling Monitors to ocean-going Ironclads, immense Dreadnoughts and the submersible Nautilus. Steam and metal let Dwarfs claim mastery over a sea they otherwise distrust, although their navigation owes an unacknowledged debt to Elven charts. Mungrun Steelhammer’s expedition to sunken Chupayotl ends in tragedy, with a lone broken survivor returning decades later and speaking only of black eyes and webbed claws.
