The Anatomy of a Jungle Gaming Board

July 2005·pp. 30–31

THE SHORT VERSION

A jungle board should contain plentiful light jungle, about a third of its jungle terrain as dense growth, and only one or two pieces each of undergrowth and impenetrable vegetation. This mix supplies routes that ordinary infantry can use without removing obstacles to cavalry and artillery. An alternative layout repositions existing scenery into the centre, demonstrating that blocking lines of sight and guiding movement can create a jungle battle even before new trees are built.
