RULES·WHITE DWARF 523

Roll for an Origin and a Flaw

April 2026·p. 72

THE SHORT VERSION

Random origins provide benefits reflecting past training, divine attention or hidden allegiances, while flaws impose liabilities such as old wounds, excessive caution, selfishness or a compulsion to seek battle. Because the results sit on the challenger’s warscroll, they continually influence positioning and cooperation. A promising fighter may need careful support to offset the very personality trait that gives the character its identity.
