Jordan condenses ten years of Mortal Realms history into a connected narrative, beginning with the formation of the realms, Sigmar’s discovery by Dracothion and the flawed alliance of the Age of Myth. The collapse into the Age of Chaos leads to Azyr’s isolation and the creation of the Stormcast Eternals, whose return begins the Realmgate Wars and the founding of new cities.

Later sections follow Nagash’s Necroquake and the Soul Wars, Morathi’s ascension, Be’lakor’s Cursed Skies, the release of Kragnos and the Twin-Tailed Crusade. The account ends with the Vermindoom, the destruction of Embergard and the Hour of Ruin, connecting individual campaigns to the major shifts in the setting.
