LORE·WHITE DWARF 516

Annals of the Eternal

September 2025·pp. 50–56

THE SHORT VERSION

Ionus Cryptborn looks back on the Stormcast Eternals’ changing wars and weapons, from their thunderous first deployment to the Hour of Ruin. Early tactical limitations gave way to Vanguard reconnaissance, Sacrosanct magic, Draconith alliances and Thunderstrike armour, but repeated Reforging gradually exposed a deeper crisis of identity.

The fate of Thostos Bladestorm and Ionus’s memories of Vandus illustrate the cost of that erosion. His account reaches the Ruination chambers, where damaged souls can resist corruption but must face the prospect of eventual oblivion; the Memorans’ compassion offers a fragile response to a solution that might otherwise become merely clinical.
