MODELLING·WHITE DWARF 396

Battleground: Somaro Starfort

December 2012·pp. 98–103

THE SHORT VERSION

Dave Andrews explains an orbital station built on four apparent floating asteroids, conceived as an Imperial outpost overrun by Daemons. Cut-down terrain hills, cork bark and disguised support rods establish the rocks, while multiple building kits form connected platforms, guns and landing areas. The team planned movement routes and a Marine arrival point before building, then chose the restrained colour The Fang over a proposed yellow so the scenery would support the armies visually. Floating debris and buildings below the rocks complete the illusion of weightlessness.
