Armies on Parade: Nick Bayton

February 2012·pp. 74–75

THE SHORT VERSION

Nick Bayton builds an Ultramarines Fourth Company display after many years without collecting Space Marines, then turns to Graham McNeill’s novels to give its characters and details a stronger identity. His converted Uriel Ventris, named officers and helmeted Scouts connect the army to that fiction, while a missile suspended above a Whirlwind on wire and foliage creates a moment of action. An Imperial Strongpoint brings the collection together as a coherent defensive display.
