Painting Workshop: Mortis Engine

January 2012·pp. 98–105

THE SHORT VERSION

Steve Bowerman separates the intricate Mortis Engine into seven assemblies so its open interior and surrounding spirits remain accessible. Cold spectral colour, weathered bone, mouldy stone and a decaying attendant are painted as distinct materials before the final build. The workshop repeatedly points out how these same recipes can unify Banshees, Skeletons, Necromancers and other units elsewhere in a Vampire Counts army.
