PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 385

Stonework

January 2012·p. 102

THE SHORT VERSION

Granite stone steps receive a heavy brown drybrush, a dark wash and lighter restored layers. Pale stone edges sharpen the shapes, while stippled green and selective flesh or green washes make individual flagstones appear damp and old. The guide suggests carrying the method across gravestones and similar parts throughout the army.
