PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 385

The Artefact

January 2012·p. 103

THE SHORT VERSION

Steel locks and casket surfaces are darkened with black and brown washes before silver edges restore the metal. The wax begins brown, receives sepia shade and builds through desert yellow to pale bone. Separating these textures makes the small reliquary read clearly inside the larger cage.
