PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 385

The Bell

January 2012·p. 73

THE SHORT VERSION

Tin Bitz and bronze drybrushing create the bell’s coppery foundation, followed by a turquoise-green coating of verdigris. Silvered cracks and edges suggest exposed metal beneath that corrosion. Its binding twine is kept separate with granite, black shading and grey highlights, preventing the two weathered materials from merging visually.
