Painting Water and Waves
October 2011·p. 103
THE SHORT VERSION
Sea bases begin with deep blue and receive two progressively lighter drybrushes, the palest concentrated on wave crests. A black-and-green wash reunites the layers and deepens the water, then diluted white marks the breaking foam. The same method across the fleet makes separately coloured ships look at home on one seascape.
