Painting Islands
October 2011·p. 104
THE SHORT VERSION
Stippled and drybrushed rocky islands receive ochre, green patches and grey highlights, with dark green and black washes settling into lower recesses. Pale skulls, green spectral castles and glowing lava provide contrasting landmarks. The lava stages spread red and orange onto adjacent rocks before yellow and white concentrate the brightest heat around individual bubbles.
