PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 382

The Heldenhammer

October 2011·pp. 90–91

THE SHORT VERSION

Steve Bowerman paints the deck first, then the red hull, stone temple and brass figurehead, leaving the sails separate. Red washes and warm highlights enrich the hull and canvas, while grey stone and blue-grey tiles keep the cathedral distinct. Sigmar’s Wrath progresses from a brown-gold foundation to brighter gold and silver highlights, giving the enormous statue a strong focal point.
