Painting the Armour: Gold, Silver Scale and Sword
October 2010·p. 74
THE SHORT VERSION
Thin successive metallic coats produce Althran’s rich gold armour, followed by red, brown and black recess shading and increasingly bright silver-edged highlights. The scale mail uses blue shade for a clean, cool finish. On the sword, alternating dark patches borrow the reflection placement of non-metallic metal even though the paints themselves are metallic, giving the blade more deliberate depth and shape.
