Eavy Metal Masterclass: Legion of the Damned
January 2010·pp. 80–87
THE SHORT VERSION
Anja Wettergren uses the Damned Sergeant to demonstrate a coordinated palette of cool black armour, warmer weapon casings, spectral bone and bright flame motifs. Purple washes lend the metal and bones an otherworldly quality, while different reds distinguish wax, eyes, leather and fire. Scroll lettering, plasma coils and aged bronze finish the model, and the completed squad shows how transferable techniques can preserve cohesion across highly individual sculpts.
