Painting Bone
January 2010·p. 81
THE SHORT VERSION
Khemri Brown provides an even foundation for the skeletal ornament, followed by dark shading and a purple wash that makes the bone appear subtly unnatural. Successive mixtures with Bleached Bone are blended in thin layers before white defines the sharpest edges. Anja explains that a more ordinary bone treatment could use a muted brown wash instead, making the colour choice a deliberate part of the Legion’s spectral identity.
