MODELLING·WHITE DWARF 350

Ancient Portal

February 2009·pp. 86–87

THE SHORT VERSION

Successively smaller foam-card layers create a stepped platform, with a circular portal and carved staircase set above it. Chips, grooves, glyph plates and fine sand turn the simple geometry into worn Lustrian architecture. The painting repeats the spawning pool’s warm stone and moss recipe, while a brown, grassy base and small fronds tie the monument into the surrounding jungle scenery.
