Battle of the Vale

November 2008·p. 39

THE SHORT VERSION

Defenders assemble in the valley centre around a Historic Landmark, with attackers arriving from both short table edges. The central army must form two fronts that protect each other, while the enemy needs to pressure both rather than allowing an easy concentration of defence. The feature suggests a baggage train, watchtower or raided village as the narrative focus. Its layout makes the terrain’s funnel shape central to the battle.
