’Eavy Metal Masterclass: Captain Sicarius
November 2008·pp. 94–99
THE SHORT VERSION
Joe Tomaszewski paints the new helmeted Sicarius in separate subassemblies so the closed pose does not block access to its detail. Layered blue armour, polished metal and a richly patterned cloak establish the character’s status, while the banner uses subdued painted gold to resemble cloth rather than actual metal. Carefully planned freehand follows the cloak’s folds. Small gems, laurels and heraldic marks complete a methodical, unusually elaborate character project.
