A central hill carries an Arcane Monolith whose controller receives extra victory points as well as magical benefits. Skull crevices grant passing units Frenzy and punish nearby rally attempts, making the board’s sculpted details active elements of the battle. Already frenzied models gain further attacks. The scenario gives a familiar fight for high ground a specifically Chaos-tainted character, demonstrated later in the issue’s main battle.
