How to Paint the ’Eavy Metal Way

November 2008·p. 91

THE SHORT VERSION

Neil Green builds an Ultramarine from mixed base colours through definition washes and precise final highlights. Blue armour, black equipment and brown-based gold each receive separate treatment, while red lenses and seals make small focal details. The intermediate stage already produces a usable gaming model; an additional pass sharpens armour, weapons and gold. The example shows how the earlier basic techniques combine within a single detailed miniature.
