Colours of the Forest: Ents
October 2006·p. 91
THE SHORT VERSION
The Ent recipes separate ordinary bark, living foliage and pale birch surfaces rather than treating the whole creature as one brown shape. Dark bark progresses through warmer browns, the leaves brighten from deep to yellowish green, and the birch begins with an earthy tone before grey and white highlights. The photographed details show how those related but distinct finishes make the sculpted plant textures readable.
