Drár’s Helmet and Shield

February 2006·p. 39

THE SHORT VERSION

Shining Gold receives thinned Flesh Wash, then Burnished Gold and Mithril Silver highlights on Drár’s decorated helmet. The shield instead starts with Camo Green darkened by black and gradually moves toward pure green, retaining a dark boundary. Bleached Bone mixed into green defines the upper edges. The paired treatments distinguish warm ornament from the shield’s painted field while using the same controlled application of thin layers.
