Painting the Easterling Castle

February 2006·p. 47

THE SHORT VERSION

Textured paint and a black undercoat prepare the castle for a warm Scorched Brown wall base. Successive brown-yellow drybrushing defines the masonry, while wooden doors finish with Graveyard Earth. Roof tiles progress from Dark Flesh through Vomit Brown to Bleached Bone, and metal ornaments use Brazen Brass and Shining Gold. The repeated materials visually join the separately constructed sections into one fortress.
