PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 311

Cloth, Parchment, Skin and Liturgy

November 2005·p. 55

THE SHORT VERSION

Bronzed Flesh parchment receives bone texture lines and thin black writing, while exposed faces progress from Tanned Flesh through Dwarf Flesh to Elf Flesh. Studio examples then show more ambitious additions: centered lettering, half-cross cloak borders and a cross outlined against a tabard. Grimaldus’s prayer cloth uses tiny vertical red strokes and dots, demonstrating how convincing text can emerge from marks rather than fully readable sentences.
