THE SHORT VERSION

The expedition first tries to close reinforcing trapdoors while awaiting Balin, losing if four defenders fall. The final adaptation gathers a stronger Dwarf guard in the tomb but adds a second Cave Troll and a Goblin captain. Both Trolls must die for Good to win, while Evil needs only Balin’s death. The escalating conditions turn the same room into a last stand centred on its leader rather than the Fellowship’s original objective.
