MODELLING·WHITE DWARF 311

Energy and Explosives Damage

November 2005·p. 60

THE SHORT VERSION

Precise beam weapons create relatively small holes or tracks, modelled with a rotary tool and exposed Boltgun Metal. Explosive hits instead pit wider areas and bend cut railings outward, while a near-miss mine damages the front of a Chimera. The comparison asks modellers to vary the physical pattern and presence of scorching according to the weapon rather than use one generic crater for every attack.
