The optional High Commander enters battle with a personal staff of bodyguards, veterans, Guardsmen and orderlies. His presence supplies nearby leadership and target-priority support, but the group cannot fulfil the army’s compulsory HQ selection. Equipment, advisers and doctrines adapt the unit to a chosen force, while specialist staff confer broader tactical benefits. Andy Hoare states that the rules are official only within the Battle for Cadia campaign; Jonathan Carter’s converted Ganamede 101st models illustrate the possibilities.
