A Tale of Four Gamers: The Final Month
August 2005·pp. 52–59
THE SHORT VERSION
Guy Haley closes eight months of budget army collecting with reflections from all four participants. Stephen Green values the discipline of a fixed budget, Asger Granerud plans to expand his unique Nurgle force, Dave Allen wants mobility and more consistent painting across his Orc ranks, and Paul Scott has rediscovered enthusiasm through a strongly themed Empire army. Their completed forces illustrate different priorities rather than a single route to success.
The last campaign turn brings Asger against Dave’s depleted army at the Tomb of Gold. A hired Maneater and an attempted trap cannot save the Orcs: Borgut’s unit flees a terror charge and the Daemons finish the resistance, even losing their chariot to quicksand along the way. Asger wins the campaign with 160 plunder, while the other players describe additions they will continue after the series ends.
