INTERVIEW·WHITE DWARF 308

Conceptualising the Wood Elves

August 2005·p. 17

THE SHORT VERSION

Paul Jeacock explains developing the range through exchanges with Anthony Reynolds and Alex Hedstrom rather than working only from a fixed brief. Dark faerie tales provide dangerous, magical qualities, while thinking about life beyond the battlefield makes the designs coherent. The aim is for the Elves to appear part of the forest itself and still retain a family relationship with other Elven peoples. Jeacock names the bizarre Dryads as a personal favourite.
