Batch Broods: The Cheat’s Guide to Painting
August 2005·pp. 72–74
THE SHORT VERSION
A reusable stick and large brushes let Guy Haley apply Graveyard Earth and Brown Ink quickly across a whole brood. Pale drybrushing establishes the chitin, then progressively lighter fine stripes concentrate detail on the eye-catching carapace. Rotting Flesh and coloured inks distinguish tubes and soft tissues, while dark claws and purple tongues keep the palette compact. Haley recommends batches of at least eight and deliberately limits perfectionism so the force reaches the table.
