A Skink Priest examines the smoking remains of the human thief and orders the stolen artefacts returned. He recognises that the men nearly escaped and that the jungle’s intervention preserved the sacred treasures, then turns the aftermath into a dark reflection on invaders who enter the land of ancient gods and death.
