The Art of Warhammer: Deployment

May 2004·pp. 88–91

THE SHORT VERSION

Jeff Leong treats deployment as the first practical test of a battle plan. Comparing movement, shooting, magic and combat power reveals where an army needs concentration, protection or space. Terrain and Leadership then shape the intended line of advance. His examples use timing and a reserve of unplaced units to respond to surprises without abandoning the overall plan, including Dark Elf manoeuvres against a concentrated Dwarf force.
