Heroes of the West: Gandalf
November 2003·p. 134
THE SHORT VERSION
Gandalf’s light robes are developed from a warm brown foundation rather than a flat white base. Ink reinforces the deepest folds before bone and white layers establish their volume, preserving a clear shadow structure. His hands and face use the same brown as an underlayer, followed by flesh mixtures, keeping the exposed skin warm enough to remain distinct from the pale clothing.
