PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 285

Shadow & Flame Painting Masterclass

September 2003·pp. 118–119

THE SHORT VERSION

Tammy Haye examines Darren Latham’s schemes for Tom Bombadil, Goldberry, Barrow-wights and the paralysed Hobbits. Bright blue clothing and warm boots distinguish Tom, while Goldberry’s flowing green dress and pale highlights create a different character. The undead figures use restrained grey-white cloth and flesh, aged metal and green eyes. Detailed finishing steps for faces, ornaments, candlelight and shrouds give each small model a clear role in the Barrow-downs scene.
