Hobby Spotlight: The Angerborn

December 2025·p. 123

THE SHORT VERSION

Elliot’s Khorne Daemons use bright lava-orange skin and cracked molten bases to establish a distinctive force within the Emberwing campaign. Its general is a converted hot rod originally built for the White Dwarf Car Show, now used as a Herald on Blood Throne. A growing skull tally determines when the army receives reinforcements, while separate skin and base recipes reproduce the heat-themed scheme.

Planet Warhammer

The reader gallery combines large display pieces with personal hobby memories, from a Reaver Titan and an imposing dragon to Howling Banshees, Cyreni’s Razors and a Lamenters Dreadnought. Letters describe returning to the hobby through a late parent’s miniatures and rediscovering Gotrek and Felix through books and classic sculpts, showing how collections can connect different generations of hobbyists.

Of Heroes and Villains

The designers explain the cast and visual direction of Darkwater, a grounded adventure whose Nurgle horror grew from rediscovered Liber Chaotica imagery. The seven heroes reinterpret familiar quest archetypes through the Mortal Realms: Edmark’s polished knight contrasts with Bren’s scavenged equipment, Inara and Jacobus embody different relationships with Ghyran, and Drolf, Kelthannor and Drasher Vorn broaden the party’s cultures and silhouettes.

Brush Tips: Helsmiths of Hashut

Max and Connor explain how tyranny, vanity, industry and perfectionism shaped the Helsmiths’ official colour scheme. Purple cloth and warm metallic trim communicate status, but the armour remains dark and industrial, its purple tint suggesting extraordinary metalworking rather than ordinary enamel. Sinister green daemonfire and cool, unnatural skin distinguish the army from other duardin and the major Chaos Gods.
