Brush Tips: The Many Colours of the Saturnine

THE SHORT VERSION

The ’Eavy Metal and Army Painting teams present Saturnine Terminators in eleven Legion schemes. Their commentary focuses on visual decisions: keeping silver distinct from yellow, warming cold metal with dirt, using secondary Legion colours to break up broad armour panels and differentiating black-armoured Loyalists through texture or subtle hue.

The gallery includes conventional opaque armour, metallic black, translucent turquoise and rich metallic crimson. Individual recipes accompany the models, with weathering, icon placement and base colours helping each enormous suit retain a clear Legion identity.

Paint Splatter: Saturnine Terminators — Salamanders

Amber paints a weathered Salamanders Saturnine Terminator, recommending separate shoulder and collar assemblies to make the recessed areas accessible.
