THE SHORT VERSION

Shon deploys the Device in its enormous servitor host, convinced that its power guarantees victory over the Necrons. Kasmoteph plans an assassination but resorts to another temporal strike when the machine is about to fire. Their competing interventions entangle the ship in a repeating catastrophe, returning Shon to the story’s opening moment while the Chronomancer recognises that this defeat has happened before.
