THE SHORT VERSION

The second battle rewards capturing objectives in enemy territory more highly than protecting those at home, with the previous winner holding Strategic Advantage. Its victor gains either a decisive initiative choice in the optional aerial interlude or Forward Deployment for a detachment in the next Legions Imperialis battle.

Suffer No Rivals

Each commander nominates two experienced units as Priority Targets, making their destruction far more valuable than ordinary objective control at the battle’s end. Markers remain held after troops move away, but protected target units cannot simply disappear into reserve, producing a hunt in which screening important units and cornering the enemy matter greatly.

A four-sided battle ties the Grand Objective to the Grand Alliance of the player taking the first turn each round. Emergency reserves and a bespoke command-point sequence support the multiplayer format, while escalating political choices determine who claims the favoured objective and who finishes first through fourth.
