THE SHORT VERSION

Kenneth Tan draws on the White and Green Snake spirits to combine pale clothing, green snake-hair and red wings. Varied marks build wing texture before flesh tones and green shading establish unusual colour temperature. Blue light from imagined cave crystals reflects most strongly on Morathi’s lower surfaces, connecting the scheme to its environment.
