Inspired by a John Blanche illustration, Ahmad Jafar builds pilgrims who venerate Imperial architecture as an extension of the Emperor. Spire-like heads, altered weapons and extensive sculpting turn familiar Flagellant components into a surreal sect; sending the models from Iraq also illustrates how miniatures let distant contributors participate in the shared event.
