PAINTING·WHITE DWARF 397

Fortress of Redemption

January 2013·pp. 114–115

THE SHORT VERSION

Dan and Kris prepare a large Dark Angels terrain piece and divide its finish into four manageable materials. The monumental angel receives stippled pale stone and carefully drawn warm lines, while the walls use subdued grey-brown drybrushes. Decks combine shaded steel with bright drybrushing, and stippled gold tones build the brass details. The methods let varied textures remain distinct across a very large, heavily ornamented model.
