INTERVIEW·WHITE DWARF 396

Goblins and Faces

December 2012·p. 137

THE SHORT VERSION

Michael Perry recalls observing Goblin performers in full costume and learning from Terry Notary how their noses lead their short, jerky movements. That three-dimensional reference shapes the miniatures’ hunched weapon-bearing poses. Aly Morrison adds that a smaller cutting tool was required for the moulds to retain the delicate facial detail of Bilbo, Radagast and the Dwarves, allowing recognisable likenesses at an unusually small scale.
