Chronicling the Changes
December 2012·pp. 138–139
THE SHORT VERSION
Adam Troke describes writing the Hobbit rules as a long-time fan entrusted with a favourite story. Reading the script and visiting the production help him recreate scenes as replayable scenarios, but he also wants new uses for existing collections. Special Strikes tie tactics to the weapons visible on models, expanded Heroic Actions create more choices, and stronger Monster abilities answer familiar methods of neutralising large creatures. His stated goal is an interactive game that supports the miniatures and enjoyable shared adventures.
