Angron: Genesis of a Primarch

October 2012·pp. 88–89

THE SHORT VERSION

Simon Egan describes three months of research, design and sculpting to reconcile the many existing depictions of Angron. Details from Jes Goodwin’s Khârn and John Blanche’s artwork join gladiatorial armour, shattered chains and the two famous axes, while slain Marines beneath the figure communicate movement and force. Egan aims to capture a proud, brutal character at the beginning of the Heresy rather than reduce him to a single expression of rage.
