Mike Anderson returns to army painting after years concentrating on competition models, choosing the diversity of Imperial Guard regiments as his starting point. The new background’s abhuman material inspires a converted Beastman in the Command Squad, with a full unit planned later. He finds the detailed infantry a satisfying compromise between interesting individual models and a collection that can be painted at a practical speed.
